Well, this is it from Jamaica...
One last blog before leaving for the airport...and I don't have much time
The long trip on Monday went very well. No motion sickness at all, nobody got grumpy, there were at least 200 children, many gave their lives to Christ, the show was awesome...a very nice last day. Our morning VBS was canceled which was probably a good thing because of the long trip, and God knew what he was doing :)
Yesterday was simply one of my best days ever, like, ever! It started as a trip to Dunn's River Falls, and became so much more. Four of our girls were baptized in the Ocean here! Kalena, Alyssa, Tracey, and Jenn....what a joy to hear each of them answer the question, "Why here, why now?"...I love these kids with all of my heart...
The falls were a blast, and I've got banged up shins to prove it. Cari Day and I dropped a challenge on each other and we found the most difficult way up possible...that was cool!
The end of the day though, God gave us a special once in a lifetime experience...
Cari and Renee were taking a late (like 9:30pm) walk on the shore when Cari noticed something moving...it was a giant sea turtle who was coming up to lay her eggs...making a very long and awesome story way too short, she came and got me on the "down low" and Cari, Renee, Dennis and I watched God's handiwork as she dug a hole, laid about 80-100 eggs, buried them, and moved back into the ocean! Who sees that!?!?!?! Dennis got a lot of pictures, simply a blessing from God...I felt so bad that Liz couldn't be there as she loves turtles so much. When I said something to that effect, Cari then realized another of God's blessings..."...and what did we bring down to give to the children at VBS?! Turtles!!!" I knew that God was telling each of us at that moment in history that "He Cares!", like what was written on the turtles we gave out...
We are heading to the airport now...and it's going to be a long day, please pray for continued patience with each other, and please pray for me and my health...I've been on day-quill and emergen-C packs for about 3 days now...sleep has been rough, but God is good!
We can't wait to see you..
