another long, but great day at camp..."Super Duper Spirit Day" for rec, kids went all out...Kerrie Churchill took 2nd place in Kajabi-Can-Can, and Tanner Thiele was the Champion of "Knock Out My Robot"...great stuff during rec...
oh...almost forgot a favorite quote from the other night..."Hey, YAY, we're COW BUDDIES!"...had to be there, but totally hillarious! Ask Katie Elmer and Kerrie Churchill about it...
The afternoon free time saw a few of our kids go sea kayaking, where apparently they were playing some kind of tag game during a break in the kayaking while on shore, and some lady yelled at them for having too much fun! She called the police! No worries, nobody got into any trouble, but just kind of interesting that boys can have too much fun running and playing...wouldn't it be a better world if they all did that?!
The rest of the group went to the stores by the world famous Belmont Park Roller Coaster and did some shopping...and a number of them, (including the Associate Pastor's daughter!) got temporary tatoos! They were mainly of butterflies or bible verses, and they all had parent permission...so don't judge! :)
Tonight's chapel was great, with amazing worship. There is just a special blessing to watch JH students, most of whom have been raised in Christian homes, have a fresh, new spirit about worship. To see them raising their hands and just being still before the Lord, what a blessing, I love what I get to do for a living!
Another hi-lite was watching our four VBS Student Leaders teach our whole group and a number of other campers the motions to "Never Let Go", a song they did on stage for VBS just last week...they just started doing the motions, and it quickly caught on...simply awesome!
One more full day of camp...we have "All Church" time tomorrow morning after worship, and I'm looking forward to hearing the kids tell each other what God is doing in their lives :)
Tomorrow for rec is the "Great Race", where each team will have many challenges to do across the entire campus...it'll be cool!
Keep praying for us...God is good!
